The MacLeods of Prince Edward Island by Harold S. MacLeod (1927-2014) was last printed in 1996. This new, revised edition is based on computer files left behind after the author’s death and reflects the many revisions he made to his book until 2005. These files, typed by the author’s wife, Tilly MacLeod, have been completely reformatted to produce clear and readable text.
This edition also includes the transcripts of cemetery headstones from Prince Edward Island cemeteries found in earlier editions.
To understand how this edition is different from previous editions of this book, also available online, read the Publisher’s Preface.
The MacLeods of Prince Edward Island is an invaluable reference book for anyone descended from the MacLeods (and McLeods) who came from Scotland to Prince Edward Island, as well as for those interested in genealogy, family history, and the history of Scottish immigration to North America.
