Join Selkirk Stories as we launch the newly reformatted and republished edition of the classic work of genealogy and Island history by Malcolm A. Macqueen, Hebridean Pioneers. First published in 1957, Hebridean Pioneers provides a comprehensive account of the early settlement of Prince Edward Island by Scottish settlers. This edition includes a new introduction and an index of names, making it an invaluable resource for scholars and researchers.

Westlie as she signs copies of her latest book, A Sense of Place, at Coles bookstore in the County Fair Mall in Summerside, PEI, on Saturday, August 10, between 1 and 3 in the afternoon. What could be lovelier than a day spent at Point Prim Lighthouse, the oldest lighthouse on Prince Edward Island? Join author Margaret A. Westlie and the Selkirk Stories team on Lighthouse Day, Saturday, August 17, between 10 am and 2 pm. There will be plenty to see and do, and Margaret will be happy to sign any of her Scottish Pioneers novels, such The Back Settlement, Mattie’s Story, Anna’s Secret or An Irregular Marriage. We will also have some of our heritage books available for those interested in genealogy and Island history.
